Review Gerdine Duijsens, Als de kersen rijp zijn - Copy
Description
Gerdine Duijsens, When the cherries are ripe, silkscreen print, 65 x 55 cm, unframed, 157/200
Gerdine Duijsens lived and worked in Lieshout, now near Amsterdam. She is a late bloomer in art. Not that she started so late, or lacked talent....
At eighteen, Duijsens studied at the Artibus Academy in Utrecht. Where she only wanted to learn to draw better, she was immersed in abstract art - incomprehensible to her at the time. The training did not match her expectations and she left. Two decades and three daughters later, Gerdine Duijsens shows that in the meantime she has not sat still and has also come to appreciate abstract art.
