Description

We hereby present a beautiful work by the Hague School master Mesdag. A typical beach scene in Scheveningen, but different because it is a winter scene. This exquisite work is included in Johan Poort's Oeuvre catalog under number 2033.09.

Hendrik Willem Mesdag (23 February 1831 in Groningen – 10 July 1915 in The Hague) was a Dutch painter, water colourist, etcher and lithographer.

Mesdag was the master marine painter and belongs to the top of the Hague School. His most famous work is the Panorama Mesdag of Scheveningen. He was also a renowned art collector with his own museum.

Work dimensions: 26 x 35 cm

Provenance: From a Dutch private collection

Viewing is of course possible. We also have our own in-house frame maker, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. We also use conservators from the trade association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this feel to contact us.
