Gerardus Johannes Koekkoek (1871-1956) was a Dutch painter. He came from the well-known Koekkoek family of painters. His great-grandfather was Johannes Hermanus Koekkoek, his grandfather was Hermanus Koekkoek and his father was Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek. GJ Koekkoek was an impressionist painter with beautiful Dutch landscapes.
The artwork on offer was painted in 1901 and shows a drawbridge near Kortenhoef, set in a wintry mood.
Frame: framed in a handmade, gold-coloured frame with ornaments and inlay.
Signature: signed and dated lower left '1901'
Panel dimensions: 31 by 43 cm
Provenance: Privately owned by a collector
