Cornelis Vreedenburgh was born in 1880 in Woerden. One of the important persons in the development of Vreedenburgh's career, is his meeting with the well-known landscape painter W.B. Tholen. His way of painting and love for nature have had a lasting influence on Vredenburgh. Vreedenburgh could often be found near the South Holland lakes. Here he could capture his beloved nature scenes and came into contact with other landscape painters.

The artist has an extensive oeuvre to his name, that is praised and collected worldwide. The painting that is being offered currently shows a moody landscape with a farm on the waterside together with a cargo boat. Characteristic is the beautiful diffuse light over the work.

Condition: The work is in good condition, consistent with its age. The work is of a large size.
