This lot concerns a monumental fragment of the historical Buddha Sakyamuni. In the photos you can see the beautiful mandala in the palm of the Buddha's arm.
Height: 48 cm
This piece is a fragment of a larger statue and was made in the 1st/2nd century AD in the Kushan Empire of India.
This lot comes from private ownership. This very rare and unique piece was purchased from Marcel Nies in Antwerp and originally comes from the Cordero collection, Turin Italy.
