George Wharton Edwards (1859 - 1950) was an American Impressionist painter and illustrator, and the author of several travel books and historical subjects. He showed an interest in art at an early age and began his painting career on barns and neighborhood fences. In 1912, he moved to Greenwich, England. Edwards was educated in Antwerp and Paris. He was a member of the Cos Cob Art Colony.
