Description

Piet van der Hem (1885-1961)
Work dimensions: 40 x 30 cm
Technique: chalk and pastel on paper

Provenance: Privately owned, Netherlands

At the beginning of the 20th century, Piet van der Hem belonged to the group of 'moderns' that also includes Gestel and Sluijters. In addition to being a painter, he also worked as an illustrator and political cartoonist for 'De Nieuwe Amsterdammer', 'De Haagsche Post' and 'De Haagsche Courant'. This beautiful work is a wonderful original of a print that could possibly be used as a cartoon.

Viewing is of course possible. We also have our own in-house frame shop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. We also use restorers from the trade organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this, we would of course like to hear from you.
