Description

The byōbu (Japanese: 屏風, literally wind wall) is a Japanese folding screen, made of several panels connected together and decorated with paintings and calligraphy. The screen can be used, among other things, to create private spaces and to subdivide spaces, but it is also, as in this case, a beautiful piece of art in itself.

Dimensions: 260 x 103 cm

provenance:
- Private collection, Netherlands
- From the collection of the largest private collectors in the Netherlands
