Unique large work by Constantijn Molenkamp. 160 x 160 cm and nice thick paint.
Constantijn Molenkamp was born in Tilburg and grew up in a family of artists. His father (Nico Molenkamp) and his sister (Charlotte Molenkamp) are also famous coastal painters He trained at the Academie voor Beeldende Vorming in Tilburg. He lives and works in Vught
Constantijn walks a path through painting in which his own handwriting and imagery are the most important elements. He applies oil paint to his canvases in thick layers. Not only with brushes; he often models the oil paint on the canvas with his hands or pallet knife. This gives the paintings warmth and depth in a very special way. For his seascapes, Constantine coined the name "Seascape". For him, Zeeschap means abstracting seascapes in a completely unique way. A few years later, the term "Landmarks" was added, similarly abstracting landscapes. Both terms are often found in the titles of his work. By not framing the paintings, Contantijn further accentuates the spatiality of nature. People often stand by his paintings for minutes dreaming away, caught in the captivating alienation of abstract spatial landscapes.
