Bronze, the oldest known metal alloy, commands respect from Gerard Engels (1945): "Bronze is beautiful and, despite being a metal, radiates warmth". Gerard Engels has his own way of modelling and his bronzes also have a style all their own: individual, figurative with a high degree of abstraction. This style is therefore perfectly reflected in this sculpture, the beautifully modelled strips can clearly be seen in the bronze.
