Description

Edmund Schampheleer (1824-1899)
Work dimensions: 65 x 100 cm
Signature: Bottom right
Dated: 1872

Provenance: from a Dutch private collection

Prominent landscape painter of Belgian descent. Student of E. de Block and a good friend of E. de Pratere. He painted in the Netherlands and Germany and became known after he participated in the Paris Art Exhibition in 1885. He mainly painted landscapes in a realistic style, which shows his preference for vast faces and changing skies. Museums: Brussels, Antwerp, Courtrai and Liège.

Viewing is of course possible. We also have our own in-house frame shop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. We also use restorers from the trade organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. The state only concerns the work. The frame is included, but damage to the frame will not be reimbursed. If you would like to use this, we would of course like to hear from you.
