Beautiful colorful work by expressionist artist Peter Bol. How Bol makes his landscapes come to life is of exceptional quality. The work is beautifully framed, it is a work on canvas which was very rare for Bol who often painted on board.

Peter Bol did not learn artistry from a stranger: his father also painted. The expressionist painter was trained at the Academy of Fine Arts St. Joost in Breda. Bol's works are characterized by bright color combinations and impasto, a painting technique in which the structure of the thick layers of paint on the canvas is still visible. He mainly paints landscapes and (flower) still lifes. Peter Bol's colorful works seem to depict reality through the eyes of a child.
