Description
Yosa Buson (1716–1784) was one of the great masters of haiku poetry and a respected painter of the Edo period in Japan. He is often mentioned alongside Matsuo Bashō and Kobayashi Issa as one of the "Three Great Haiku Masters." His poems blend vivid imagination with subtle emotions, often drawing inspiration from nature and landscapes.

Buson was also a talented painter in the bunjin-ga style (literati painting), capturing scenes of daily life, flora and fauna, and poetic landscapes with a delicate balance of detail and atmosphere. His painting and poetry deeply influenced each other, resulting in a unique and harmonious artistic vision.
