Tinus van Bakel (1939–2020) was a Dutch artist, born in Eindhoven and passed away in Schilde, Belgium. As a self-taught artist, he developed a unique style that combined elements of both organic forms and geometric structures. His work was characterized by colorful, strange creatures that populated their own world.

Van Bakel lived and worked in several cities, including Paris, Melun, Pavia, Heidelberg, and eventually Antwerp. His artworks can be found in various private collections and museums.
