Herontdekte Meesterwerken: De Collectie van het Centraal Museum Utrecht

Explore the rich history of artworks from the Centraal Museum Utrecht in our new collection.

The Centraal Museum Utrecht was founded in 1830, making it the oldest urban museum in the Netherlands. The museum originally housed the art collection of just Utrecht's merchants and the municipality.

In 1921, the museum made a significant decision. The city's collection was merged with various private collections, aiming to create a central hub for all art enthusiasts. Finally, the museum was named the 'Centraal Museum Utrecht'.

Our collection from the Centraal Museum Utrecht features a diverse mix of works by both female and male painters from across the Netherlands. These works span various styles, ensuring there is something for every classical art collector!
