Jan Weissenbruch (1822-1880) was a prominent 19th-century Dutch painter from The Hague. He received his education at the Teekenacademie, which later became known as the Royal Academy of Art. While primarily active in The Hague, Weissenbruch also painted in places like Leerdam, Culemborg, and Belgium. He had a strong preference for cityscapes, often featuring bridges and canals.
