Description

Portrait lady in traditional clothing, oil on canvas, 180 x 160 x 3 x cm, George van Hervalue was born in Haarlem and photographed the youth scene in and around Club Xeno. His serious photography career started as an assistant with fashion photographer Hans Dukkers in 1957. At the group portrait of Dutch photographers for De Telegraaf in 1960 by Paul Huf, he is still literally on the sidelines. After a full-page publication with free work by his hand, in the Haarlems Dagblad in 1962, he decided to settle independently as a fashion, advertising and to a lesser extent as a portrait photographer. George van Herwaarde photographed fashion for the Bijenkorf and the International Fashion Center and the couture of Frans Molenaar until the 1970s. Then he started painting, especially Pierrots on large canvases. His remnant black and white archive comprises approximately 7500 fashion recordings from the hip sixties. The painting comes from a private collection and equipped with a beautiful list, which certainly does value on the work. Condition: The work is in perfect condition, condition: the work offered is in good condition.
