Hubert Bellis (1831-1902) was a Belgian painter known for his still lifes and interior scenes. He specialized in detailed depictions of flowers, fruit, and everyday objects, often rendered with a high level of realism. Bellis studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and was influenced by the academic and realist traditions of the 19th century. His works are characterized by delicate lighting, refined compositions, and meticulous attention to detail. In addition to still lifes, he also painted portraits and genre scenes.
