Dimensions work: 75 x 105 cm

- Private collection, Netherlands
Mari ten Kate specialized in painting figure pieces, often with children playing. As a true romantic, he idealized their natural simplicity and virtue, as well as the simple existence of farmers and fishermen. His lovely scenes were often far removed from 19th-century reality, when these population groups generally led a hard and miserable existence. Mari ten Kate was a pupil of his brother, the genre painter H.F.C. ten Kate.
Viewing is of course possible. In addition, we have our own in-house frame shop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. The condition only concerns the work and not the frame. Damage to the frame before, during or after shipping will not be reimbursed. Furthermore, we use restorers from the trade organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'.
