Johan Barthold Jongkind (Lattrop, 3 June 1819 - La Côte-Saint-André, 9 February 1891) was a Dutch painter, watercolourist, draughtsman, etcher and lithographer. Jongkind left as a pupil of Isabey for France, where he would live most of his life. His pupil Monet would later say of Jongkind that he taught him to compose light.
