Manfred Schneider, born in 1959 in Munich, is a German artist known for his intriguing sculptures, installations, and works on paper. His artworks are often described as unsettling and mysterious, rich in details that invite interpretation. Schneider combines natural elements with text fragments, vaguely recognizable fairy-tale figures, and symbols such as Mercedes stars, resulting in complex compositions that challenge the viewer.
He studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Frankfurt am Main from 1990 to 1996 under renowned professors like Ilya Kabakov, Thomas Bayrle, and Martin Kippenberger. Before that, he pursued architecture at the Technical University of Munich from 1980 to 1986. After completing his studies, he received an artist studio grant from the city of Frankfurt am Main from 1996 to 1998
