Ulf Göpfert, born on July 16, 1943, in Dresden, is a German painter and graphic artist. He is the son of renowned architecture professor Rolf Göpfert. Between 1960 and 1963, he trained as a cabinetmaker and restorer while also obtaining his high school diploma. During this period, he took private lessons in painting and composition to further develop his artistic skills.
After completing his training, Göpfert worked as a furniture restorer in prestigious institutions such as the art collections of Weimar, Dresden, and Potsdam-Sanssouci, specializing in the restoration of Baroque furniture. Following German reunification, he was appointed as the first cultural and tourism commissioner in Dresden in 1990, a position he held until 1994. After this, he decided to fully dedicate himself to his career as an independent artist.
Göpfert’s work includes both paintings and graphic art, showcasing his craftsmanship and artistic vision. His oeuvre has been exhibited in various galleries and exhibitions, including a solo exhibition titled Malerei und Grafik from January 15 to February 27, 1998.
