Jan Hul (1908-1956) was a Dutch painter primarily known for his landscapes and village scenes. He worked in oil painting and was recognized for his detailed and realistic style. His work often depicted the beauty of the countryside and village life, with a focus on light and shadow.
His style can be characterized as realistic, capturing the daily life of small villages. Hul had a preference for painting peaceful, natural environments, and his works are valuable for documenting the Dutch landscape in the early to mid-20th century.
Although his works were appreciated in his time, he is less known today compared to some of his contemporaries. Despite his short life (he passed away at the age of 48), he made a significant contribution to Dutch painting.
