Provenance: From a private Dutch collection
Anthonie Pieter Schotel (1890-1958), a painter originally from Dordrecht, focused almost exclusively on one theme: water. From his various places of residence, including Volendam, he studied water and ships. He was captivated by the sturdy fishing boats on the Zuiderzee, which he saw arriving and departing from the Volendam harbor under an ever-changing sky—this beautiful, colorful work was painted in that very setting.
Viewing is, of course, possible. Additionally, we have our own in-house framing workshop, celebrating its 85th anniversary. We also work with restorers from the professional association "Restauratoren Nederland." The condition refers only to the artwork itself. The frame is included, but any damage to the frame will not be compensated. Should you wish to make use of these services, please let us know.
