Review Hendrik Frauentelder - Winter landscape
Description
Hendrik Frauenfelder (1885–1922) was a self-taught Dutch painter, born in Vught. He spent most of his life active in South Holland, particularly in the areas around Warmond and Alkemade (Kaag). Following the tradition of the Hague School, he captured polder and forest landscapes, often depicting everyday scenes such as a woman hanging laundry, skaters on ice, or grazing cattle in the meadow. His paintings are characterized by a swift and fluid brushwork. Tragically, he passed away at the age of 37.
