Hirai Baisen (平井梅仙, 1889–1969) was a prominent Japanese lacquer artist during the late Meiji, Taishō, and Shōwa periods. He is known for his exceptional skill in maki-e (decorative lacquer work using gold and silver powder), as well as for blending traditional Japanese techniques with innovative approaches.
